NCC TO REVIEW MOBILE RATES

Nigerian Communication Commission met with telecommunications operators in the country to review the mobile voice termination rates.Speaking in Abuja Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, Prof Umar Danbattawho was represented by a director in the commission Mrs Josephine Amuwa, said there was need for the review because of the global financial markets has impacted on operating cost of operators.He said the changes will affect the unit cost of providing services including interconnection adding that it may lead to differences between regulated interconnection rates and underlying costs which in turn may result in differences between on-net and off-net retail tariffs.
